India's new rent rules protect tenants.
Fair.
But we also need faster dispute resolution for landlords when tenants stop paying rent or refuse to vacate.
🚨 INDIA'S NEW RENT RULES 2026.
• Landlords cannot charge more than two months’ rent as a deposit.
• Tenants cannot be evicted without legal due process.
• Rental agreements must be digitally stamped and registered within 60 days.
• Rent can be increased only once in 12 months, with 90 days’ prior notice.
• Landlords must give 24 hours’ notice before entering the property.
• If essential repairs aren’t done within 30 days, tenants can fix them and deduct the cost from rent.
• Changing locks, cutting water/electricity, or threatening tenants is punishable.

These are not 2026 rules. These rules are from Model Tenancy Act, 2021 that was approved by the Union Cabinet on 2 June 2021. For the rules to actually apply in a state, that state must either enact a new tenancy law based on the MTA or amend its existing rent control law

Since day 1 of JioHotstar, I have not seen a single person say they like the cumulative views metric.
Everyone just misses the old concurrent viewer count from Disney Hotstar.

JioHotstar views have confused everyone today.
JioHotstar views ≠ Hotstar's concurrent viewer count. It's now cumulative views (like YouTube/JioCinema).
Old Disney Hotstar: Showed concurrent viewers (people watching at the same time)
New JioHotstar: Shows cumulative views (total views over time, like YouTube)
Metric wahi, app nayi 😉
