So I am watching NBS Frontline and I thought I heard Andrew Mwenda saying that M7’s plan is to grow Uganda’s GDP 10-fold from current $65b to $650b in the next 10 years. I had to slap my cheeks and rewind to make sure I heard him right. So in 10 years Uganda will have the same GDP as (current) UAE, Sweden and much bigger than South Africa or Malaysia. For that to happen, our economy must grow 25% yearly. We’re currently at 5% and In 40 years of Museveni the highest we’ve managed was less than 8%. So what’s the magic bullet that’s going to propel us to such grand heights? According to him, appointing Gen Muhoozi as Prime Minister. With Intellectuals like Mwenda, who needs idiots?
