Skeptical, contrarian and opinionated tech enthusiast. Anti-fascist. Right clicker. I’m quitting twitter after 14 years because Elon Musk is a sociopath. $tslaq
I feel really bad for the people that work at Twitter too. Let’s all hope that the inevitable exodus of talent will go on to create something actually great in this space.
I’m not going to make some grand proclamation about leaving twitter now that a sociopath like @elonmusk is about to run it into the ground. But, I am going to archive 14 years of content that I created and go dark, soon. I loved twitter.
I was an active member in the third party developer community in the early days. There was so much potential in this platform and I cannot understand why a series of incompetent CEOs and a consistently disfunctional board could not land on a sustainable model here.
The opportunity to really contribute something great to society permeates a platform like Twitter. I can only hope that someone with actual vision and a semblance of morality figures out how to do it. There is no reason to believe that @elonmusk can do that.
Going to start investigating how to export and archive my more that 10,000 tweets. I’m not interested in helping @elonmusk in any capacity. #riptwitter
I’d like to take this opportunity to once again acknowledge the unrelenting awfulness of ever single moment of interaction with any part of the commercial airline industry.
Thread on how Amazon treats its workers
Context:
Amazon full-time warehouse employees make $31,200 a year. Jeff Bezos makes that every 12 seconds.
Cost to give warehouse workers 2 weeks paid sick leave pay bumps so they don't qualify for food stamps = 0.9% of Bezos' fortune
I cannot tell from the reporting whether Ukraine is now conducting special military operations inside Russia, but they would be entirely justified in hitting strategically relevant targets accross the border.
I’m not sure what’s more enraging, Will Smith’s ‘I beat you because I love you’ -themed acceptance speech, or the stepford wife-worthy ‘let’s all be friends’ reaction of everyone in that room.
I think there is no question that we’re descending into a new cold war. China’s role is still to be determined. They’ll probably try to play both sides for a while. Not sure if that is sustainable. politico.eu/article/eu-has-v…

I’m not saying that trump actually is an asset of the Russian Federation, but it’s pretty clear that he believes it’s politically expedient to portray himself as an asset of the Russian Federation. Bizarre and infuriating.
