Took >6 years to get to this point. Now it's apparently all cancelled. Luckily there's no rush: It's not like we have a housing crisis, or that Cambridge's house price to salary ratio is one of the highest in the country, or that the UK needs growth. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgv…

Just a reminder that an individual's national insurance payments do not fund their State pension. The average person's national insurance payments cover about half the cost of their state pension:

I am so serious when I say that the 32% of people that oppose free bus travel for under 22 year olds should be identified and sent to the moon An island of people addicted to misery that only wants to inflict further misery on the younger generation

So…the group that GETS FREE BUS TRAVEL, opposes it for young people who have significantly less money and uses public transport more frequently. The privilege and entitlement of the Boomer generation never ceases to amaze me.

Under 22’s literally screwed up two years of their lives so older people could LIVE. This is how they get treated. We really need to strip ungrateful boomers of their unearned entitlements so they stop leeching off everyone else.

Throwing kids under the bus again to feed the vampiric uni sector...Is 40 years of repayment not enough? How about 9% taken from salary every year if young grads manage to earn Nat Min Wage of £25,000? When will governments accept that marketisation of #highed failed?

EXCLUSIVE @theipaper: Ministers are considering changing the law to increase tuition fees in line with inflation each year. Could be accompanied by more generous maintenance to sugar the pill. Link in thread below👇

RT @inter_gen: @drchrisnewton So let’s remove the 60 oyster commuter freebie @BorisJohnson gave to those below state pension age then?

perhaps because Senior Citizens did not receive free travel when Gareth was young, they should not receive today.

My 17 yr old has an annual bus pass to get to school (7 miles one way). £650 a year! I couldn’t believe it at first. Previous school was similar distance but by train at half the cost.

Unsurprisingly the demographic that receives the most free bus travel is also the demographic most likely to oppose it for struggling younger generations
