Ildar Dadin - “Gandhi.”
April 14, 1982 - October 5, 2024
A man who stood for nonviolence, for dignity, for resistance without weapons - and was imprisoned for it, simply for refusing to stay silent.
His name wasn’t a symbol. He lived it.
And then came the war.
He went to the front, not to prove anything, not to talk. Just to do what he thought had to be done.
From peaceful resistance to the battlefield.
He knew the cost - and he went anyway.
Glory to the Hero - Rest in peace🕯🫡
⚔️ At the National Military Memorial Cemetery in Kyiv, Legion fighters and family members laid to rest the ashes of Ildar Dadin, who was killed in combat in the Kharkiv region in 2024.
"Gandhi" took part in multiple complex operations across different sectors — from the Kursk direction to the Kharkiv region. He fought his final battle there as well, serving as an assault fighter. Before withdrawal, he chose to go back for a wounded comrade: “I’m going to get him out, and I don’t care if I die there.”
Ildar is remembered as a principled fighter for justice and freedom. A committed pacifist who took up arms in response to the war, he fought to the end and was killed in action.
Comrades, family, and close friends gathered at the memorial cemetery to say goodbye and remember his path.
