🇯🇵😂 The most Japanese celebration ever After Japan’s 2–2 draw against the Netherlands, fans rushed onto Tokyo’s famous Shibuya Crossing to celebrate. For exactly 40 seconds. Why? Because the pedestrian light was green. As soon as it turned red, everyone stopped celebrating and obediently moved back to the sidewalks. Even in the middle of a spontaneous football celebration, the Japanese still refused to break traffic rules.

Charity Football Match💙⚽ Join us on Sunday 19th July from 1:30pm for our Charity Football Match in support of Stevie and his family. Stevie was sadly diagnosed with incurable cancer in September last year and as he continues to face this incredibly difficult journey, we are coming together as a community to raise funds and provide support for Stevie and his loved ones during this time. "In September last year after 7 weeks in hospital I was diagnosed with Carcinoma of Oesophagus & Metastatic Malignant neoplasm to peritoneum. To simplify this its cancer of the stomach lining & unfortunately this is non curable. I have had 10 cycles of chemotherapy so far and at the moment this has kept the cancer at bay and from spreading further. I am currently on a treatment break with chemotherapy due to start again Mid June. Obviously due to the circumstances i am unable to work, any funds raised would go towards making as many happy memories with my 2 beautiful children Owen (19) & Ava (11) and my partner of 15 years Tasha & for their futures. Life is short and if I have anything to say, it would be to make the most of the time you have, hug that bit harder and spend quality time with your loved ones, as in a blink of an eye it can all change." - Stevie G #charityfootballmatch #ipswichfootball #suffolkfootball #fundraising #suffolkevent

RIP Anthony 😢😢
We are desperately saddened to report the passing of our former Academy player Anthony Renton. An inspirational character, Anthony bravely battled leukaemia for almost nine years - and never let it diminish his love of our game. Anthony was a promising defender and had only recently signed his first professional terms with Boro when he was first diagnosed with leukaemia back in July 2017. Despite the many challenges and setbacks he faced as a result of his cancer battle, Anthony continued to be a beacon of positivity. He spent many of his later years in coaching, including some time with our Academy. His dedication to supporting young footballers in their development both on and off the pitch will always be remembered, and leaves a lasting legacy with so many children and their families across Teesside. Anthony’s commitment was recognised when he was named a hugely deserved first winner of our MFC Academy Alumni Award in March 2026. Anthony passed away peacefully over the weekend at the age of 27. Our thoughts go out to Anthony’s family and friends at this devastating time.
