This is just plain false. The term femboy originated in writing as early as 1981, yet the Western version of the architype has roots that go back to Ancient Rome. The Japanese version of it goes back to Japanese mythology.
the modern "femboy" archetype and subculture didn't exist before the 2010's while bishonen goes back decades

I don't even do a fanservice thing and I still get people (usually guys) making offhanded sexual remarks. I've had people send me gifts in games I play with messages like, "Just busted all over". I've banned people for overly sexual messages. I don't like it, it's not fun.
Male Vtubers could definitely be super successful.
