When @vbahkk showed me the concepts for this in crit I told her it’s time to fold Otherkind and hard pivot into fashion. (Unfortunately, these are just the tip of what she concepted)
Ok but why does @Cloudflare merch go so hard

Replying to @jappleby
Or it’s just a bit of fun and not really that deep.

Oh hey, I also made the music for this sizzle by dusting off ableton.
[New work] An identity for @usvc_ We partnered with @AngelList to develop a new brand and web experience for USVC. Drawing from financial blueprints, academic systems, and archival grids, the visual language was designed to feel precise and practiced.

The death of the pixel construction worker* Design should have never been a function of execution in organizations and we’re finally seeing the cracks of that approach
DESIGN: THE FIRST AI CASUALTY I'm increasingly sure that 2026 signals the end of product design as a full-fledged stand-alone function within companies. If so, it will be the first role / function to be eliminated by AI on a go-forward basis. Instead of hiring FT designers, startups are hiring / will hire design consultants to create a design system that the founder likes (this takes a few weeks max). Once the design system is finalized, PM/Eng feed it into their AI tool of choice to generate prototypes. The design system is refreshed annually by the same consultant. Larger companies will likely not backfill design roles and will do some targeted attrition to reduce the design department to 20% the size it is today. If you're a designer, I think you have two choices: 1. Become an entrepreneur: Start a design agency and become the go-to resource for design systems for startups and even larger companies. This can be a good recurring revenue business. 2. Become a builder: Add PM/Eng responsibilities to become a product builder. Would suggest you embrace this proactively vs waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm really sorry about this - some of my best friends and the people I admire most and have learnt the most from are designers - but it seems inevitable.

True craft reveals itself in the process through which a vision becomes tangible. We're looking for people who feel that. Designers drawn to the act of creating, not just the creation. Things have been quiet over here at Otherkind because there's been no shortage of things worth making. Join us and I promise you'll be working on novel and interesting interfaces.

@itsdpark and I gave a talk @_GentleMonster_ HQ in Seoul this week!!! We shared a bit about our design process @otherkindstudio and how we weave AI into our workflows more as a creative partner than just a tool to work faster. The GM office itself was also insane inside and out... the team here is constantly redefining what a space can be. Literally turning the architecture into a full experience, and that experience into their culture. Always cool to be invited into spaces that care this deeply about craft 🕶️ more fun here to come 👀

I know claude has become the go to tool of choice for prototyping, but few understand the joy (pain*) of wrangling noodles across the canvas. 🥲

heyfriends If you’ve worked with me, you’ve always known that I’ve wanted to start a creative studio. While I’ve been making products for a long time, I’ve come to appreciate the ‘process of making’ more than the actual product itself. One of the deepest joys I experience is the rally of creativity with others. Otherkind is a love letter to that process. It isn't just a design studio that executes. It’s a place where creativity can flourish, breathe, and bring excitement. both internally and with our clients. We have a lot planned for the studio, but for now, we're busy innovating on products you love and brands you'll soon get to know. More soon.
Officially introducing ourselves to the world. Our website got a coat of fresh paint.
