We love to see writers put their unique positionalities into their work, whether that means playing with form, space, language, or even genre. Mario Stone plays with both form and language, weaving artfully between English and Spanish, in his recently accepted poem "Inspiró"

During Black History Month, we at genesis want to lift up the Black voices and Black stories they share through our magazine. "Being Black" by Tyler Butler, an essay we've recently accepted, speaks to the author's experiences of learning about and joining in Black culture.
