I think about Paradise Killer and the way it uses empty space as friction all the time...so I'm very curious how this maximalist hellscape (complimentary) will also make me think about design

Google is buying 6-7 nuclear reactors to power its AI
Community note
NN - Google is "signing the world’s first corporate agreement to purchase nuclear energy from multiple small modular reactors (SMR) to be developed by Kairos Power." They are not buying the reactors, they are simply buying power from them. Source: blog.google/outreach-initi…

Yeah but show me a robot bartender who will do free fernet shots with me.
Optimus just poured a drink and didn’t ask for a 25% tip on an iPad. Just put $10M more into Tesla stock

It turns out being a human is actually INTEGRAL to being a bartender

This guy is from Orlando (where I grew up) and he would go into Wally's, a bar/liquor store, hammered at like 1 am and buy everyone drinks. It closed after covid and he commented on it closing saying that he was sad because he had been drinking there since he was a teen.

thinking about the incarcerated people who were left behind during the hurricane, who weathered the storm in cages, who may not have power or water or any way of contacting their loved ones outside the walls. prison abolition is a climate issue

If you are someone writing about games and culture in the contemporary moment, here are two important data points: 1. This video. 2. The sheer giddy celebration of the Embracer "game library" that happened a few years ago.

Adjusting the price of luxury goods by inflation doesn’t work when wages are completely stagnant 🙃
Here are inflation adjusted prices for mainline PlayStation consoles since launch: PS1: $611 (1995) PS2: $546 (2000) PS3: $778 (2006) PS4: $538 (2013) PS4 Pro: $522 (2016) PS5: $606 (2020) PS5 Pro: $699 (2024)
Community note
PS5 Pro is comparable to the PS5 Digital Edition, which is not included in this list, didn't have the disk drive. PS5 Pro disk drive is $80, so it will be a total of $778.99 for it to be 1:1 with the rest of the PlayStation Version in this list. theverge.com/2024/9/10/2424… playstation.com/en-ph/local/ne… gamespot.com/gallery/the-ev…

if our phones are an extension of our bodies like a kangaroo with a baby joey, why don’t we have a pouch in our abdomen to put them in?

In the last year it more or less became illegal to protest against Israel in huge swaths of this country
NYPD arrested two Columbia University students outside of Barnard gates. Officers were extremely aggressive with students, shoving protestors against the barricades. One officer was cited for using excessive force against a student. #Picket4Palestine
