Check out this cool piece of poetry... I love biblical poetry.
And the woman stood before the gates and lifted her voice, saying:
“Woe to those who build their houses upon image while neglecting the condition of their hearts.
For it is written: ‘Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’
Yet you adorned yourselves before men while allowing pride, gossip, and vanity to sit quietly at your table.
You honored influence more than humility and mistook applause for wisdom.
Did not the Lord say, ‘By their fruit you will recognize them’? A tree cannot hide its nature forever. In time, every root reveals itself.
You gathered people but neglected truth.
You spoke of unity while sowing division in secret.
You desired the praise of men more than the fear of God.
And so your words became smooth while your hearts grew hardened.
Have you not read:
‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble’?
You built platforms but forgot trembling.
You built rooms full of voices but left no place for the weary to rest safely among you.
You taught others how to grow in name while neglecting the weightier matters of righteousness, mercy, integrity, and peace.
Like whitewashed tombs, beautiful outwardly yet full within of hidden decay, so shall every hidden thing eventually come into the light.
For nothing concealed remains hidden forever before the eyes of God.
And if a house is divided against itself, it cannot stand.
Not because man tears it down,
but because truth eventually exposes what pride attempts to protect.
Therefore let every seed bear fruit according to its kind.
Let the merciful reap mercy.
Let the humble receive grace.
Let the deceitful be caught in the nets they themselves have laid.
Let every whisper spoken in darkness answer for itself in the light.
For the Judge of all the earth and his laws of nature and sowing and reaping shall do what is right.
And though men defend themselves with many words, the Lord weighs the spirit behind them all.
Better a small table with peace than a crowded feast full of striving and vanity.
Better correction with gentleness than power without love.
Better truth that humbles than influence that corrupts the soul.
So let every kingdom built upon image alone be tested by fire.
And if the foundation is hollow, let it fall by the weight of its own fruit.
For the Lord is not mocked.
Whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap.
Then the woman departed and placed the matter into the hands of God, saying:
‘Vindicate me according to truth, O Lord. Search me also, lest pride be found in me. Let justice and mercy meet together, and let every hidden thing be revealed in its appointed time.’
