It was a pleasure joining Reed Summers on the @EmergentPodcast podcast to discuss air intelligence, unidentified objects in controlled skies, and the concrete flight safety risks they present to manned aviation. From a security and intelligence standpoint, these encounters highlight persistent unknowns in our airspace that demand better data collection, standardized pilot reporting, and rigorous analysis to protect aviation operations and national security interests. Worth a listen if you're tracking operational threats rather than speculative narratives.
Premiering NOW!  Reed Summers speaks with @james_fowler_ on the evolving landscape of airspace security, including drone proliferation, GPS vulnerabilities, vision-based navigation, & why legacy assumptions are no longer valid. Join the premiere: youtu.be/g5XNiPOSrGA

What kinds of drones are slipping through Europe’s defenses? They could be Group 3 drones, medium-sized, built with composites, flying low and slow. If that’s the case, they raise hard questions about radar coverage, payload capacity, and the range of threats they may represent.

6). Regardless of who is flying these drones (BLUE or RED), they expose a vulnerability common to all modern nations. Defensive technology must catch up to the threat, and fast.

5). Countering this threat is not as easy as buying a monolithic air defense systems. Custom radar loadsets must be designed to prevent filtering of the signatures of these drone types. Furthermore, more radars over larger areas must be installed.

4). It may be that the drones are being flown from a satellite, since they are so low, and appear to be spread across a wide area. A Group 3 drone launch may require 3-5 people. If you extrapolate the rogue drones in flight in the EU right now, there may be multiple drone bases of 3-5 people, possibly afloat or in a remote area.

3). Group 3 drones offer payload capacities of up to around 100 pounds. A lot of technology or weaponry can fill a 100 lbs payload compartment. Low, slow, drones with a high-volume payload can enable a sophisticated enemy a lot of options.

2). When constructed of materials like carbon fiber, which is inherently harder to detect due to it’s low Radar Cross Section, and flown at lower levels, perhaps 2,000 feet and below, and furthermore moving slowly, perhaps below 30 miles per hour (13 meters per second), it becomes hard to detect these drones.

1). The drones operating in Europe appear to be what is classified generally as Group 3 drones; which weigh less than approximately 1300 pounds and typically have a wingspan of less than 30 feet or so.

It was a pleasure speaking with @BillyKryzak about the intriguing data points from the Hellfire video. Whether the object is something mundane like a balloon or otherwise, the questions remain about what is in our skies and its impact on national security. @GarryPNolan @RepEricBurlison @SkywatcherHQ @jakebarber2025 @rosscoulthart

Presenting UAP Class 2 – Tic Tac. This class is defined by a bright white cylindrical craft observed to shift shape mid-flight—typically elongating horizontally during the transition from a hover to forward motion, with color changes from white to purple to pink. These transitions are reflected in electro-optical (EO) sensor data, while infrared (IR) consistently detects strong thermal signatures, making this one of the most visually and thermally distinct classes we’ve tracked. Often referred to as 'Tic Tacs,' these objects also exhibit tumbling motion, abrupt altitude drops, and coordinated group behavior—without any visible means of propulsion. Presenting UAP Class 1 – Tetra. This class is characterized by a tumbling or rotation-like motion, observed mid-air without any visible means of propulsion. Coordinated formations are also common, appearing consistently across both electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) sensors. It’s one of the most reliably observed classes to date—and often where the most pressing questions start. Learn more here → skywatcher.ai/research/tetra

These new modules for all 9 UAP classes offer a preliminary look into our aerial intelligence data, revealing key insights regarding the unidentified entities operating in our skies.
Introducing UAP Modules. Skywatcher is launching a new series of short videos exploring the behavior of various UAP classes— including movement patterns, sensor observations, and emerging trends. Each video offers a focused, curated look at what our team is observing, one class at a time.

It was a pleasure sitting with Jesse Michels, @AlchemyAmerican, to discuss the efforts of @SkywatcherHQ to advance public awareness of the incursions in our national airspace by unknown actors. I appreciate the team we have assembled, including @AKlokus, @jakebarber2025, @GarryPNolan, @matthew_pines and many other talented individuals.

Thankful for the opportunity that @jakebarber2025 and I had to answer important questions from @ChrisCuomo regarding the work we have been doing as founders at @SkywatcherHQ. These are interesting times and this long-form podcast structure is the right way to sit down and talk details. In this podcast we chat about how the work we are doing at Skywatcher is important not just for disclosure, but also for national security. youtube.com/watch?v=-Ucat9n2…
