Last Tuesday, our oldest, Cam, started running a fever and having chest pains again. Fortunately, what was supposed to be his last follow up appointment with cardiology was scheduled for the next day. Unfortunately, that appointment revealed that pericarditis had reoccured.
They put him on high dose steroids and scheduled him to return today for follow up. His heart is responding to the steroids and he will continue on them for a total of 28 days. He has to continue on the anti-inflammatory for a total of 6 months instead of 3, and he is back to no physical activity until the steroids can be tapered, and his condition can be re-evaluated.
Obviously this is not how he wanted to spend the summer before his senior year but we are grateful there is a plan and he is getting good care. We are also grateful for how we see God shaping him through all of this. We appreciate prayers for his continued recovery, and for no long term damage to his heart.
Love you all!
