Why are terfs always at the cutting edge of bad opinions whatever the subject?

This Governments branding of protest as 'terrorism' has seen grandparents arrested and dragged through the courts simply for holding up signs. It's deeply authoritarian when people are speaking out against a genocide and for a free Palestine.

Journalists going out of their way to show how much they donโ€™t understand that different things are different is always class
There will be lots of outrage today about the social media ban & legitimate fears about privacy/data protection But worth pointing out how much personal information we already give away. Face scans every time we use Apple Pay. Email addresses logging into random WiFi networks.

Murdering women and children in Gaza = not terrorism. Causing minor damage to property = terrorism. Make it make sense.

Corbyn broke so many institutions, just by existing as a leader of the opposition. BBC being unbiased, comedy being left wing, guardian being liberal, the list goes on. He made them take the mask off, just to beat him.

The Guardian was a bastion of British liberalism and whatโ€™s happened is - its management have clocked that the public do not want more Thatcherism, austerity and crackdowns, and they donโ€™t like the politicians selling it. So itโ€™s cheerio to liberalism, hello bullshit propaganda.

The Guardian editorial team still have libs amongst them, bless โ€˜em. The Guardian politics desk are crackpipe-hitting, saluting Labour right partisans who might as well be on the payroll, and youโ€™ll get little except sales pitches for whatever this weekโ€™s new bullshit is.

"The IDF will remain in the security zones in Lebanon.. the area will be cleared of local residents" The genocidal apartheid regime confirms it won't withdraw from Lebanon & it will ethnically cleanse the land it occupies.

If Palestinians attacked a synagogue in Israel & set it on fire I have no doubt it'd be reported on UK mainstream news. But Israelis attacking mosques in the occupied West Bank is a regular occurrence & it rarely (if ever) gets reported here.

The authoritarian tendency to just prohibit and ban is not going to help
We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just canโ€™t let that go on anymore. So weโ€™re giving children their childhoods back.
Community note
The UK Government's 'careful review' of the research found a small correlation between children's use of social media and wellbeing, but no evidence of a causal effect: gov.uk/government/pubโ€ฆ assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/696e0b46โ€ฆ

Itโ€™s incredible to me how people have moved on from this. It still stands as a reminder of the worst tragedy in Londonโ€™s modern history and it feels like it has been totally swept under the rug

Again, you should ask how our political/media class came to be ram-packed with foaming-at-the-mouth wingnut crackpots whose horrible views are *wildly* out of step with the public. Did this happen organically, because far right cranks are simply the best and most talented?

Going all-in on the depleted resources in the North Sea is literally the stupidest thing you could do if you wanted energy security, but especially while building renewables and battery storage capacity is the cheapest it's ever been.
You can't defend a country abroad if it's just about holding it together at home. Security is energy. It's industry. It's whether a kid in Aberdeen still believes hard work gets them somewhere. That's the foundation to build everything else on. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06โ€ฆ

Good to get a bit of well-wishing from the guy who once tweeted that when he saw me in the street he booed and if his wife hadn't been with him, he didn't know what he would have done.

The UK government and Met Police allowed an event to go ahead that breached international law
URGENT ๐Ÿšจ We're outside the Edgware United Synagogue where Zionists are holding an Israeli Real Estate conference - selling illegal land in the Occupied Territories. The government and Met Police have allowed this event to go ahead. And now, it looks like the blow back has started as things are quickly escalating.

If you remove support from people, they sink further. This is the underlying logic of having a welfare system and has been proved true time and time again.

55% of the welfare bill is pensions. If that's ringfenced, then all you're left with are more cuts to the poor, sick, and disabled. It'll certainly kill people and cause an acceleration of poverty that will cost more than it saved to fix. It'll push disabled people out of work.
