The Indus water will continue to flow due to gravity to Pakistan, since India has no storage structures on its tributaries Jhelum, Indus and Chenab to prevent the flow to downstream. In nutshell, freezing a treaty doesn't alter gravity flow 😎

This headline is a disgrace to humanity, @CNN . People are never collateral damage even though they are mistakenly described as such. Irony: an Indian origin journalist wrote this pathetic piece.
What an awful headline, @CNN! Indian lives are not collateral damage in anybody’s war. Here, they were killed by American missiles.

And here is Laal Aankh response by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Spoke to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio this evening. I reiterated India’s strong protest at the attacks by the US Navy in the Gulf that killed three Indian mariners. Such lethal actions against commercial shipping are not justified.

The Silence Over Indian Lives: If three American merchant mariners were killed in an airstrike, it would trigger a round-the-clock political crisis in the United States. Yet the deaths of three Indian crew members in a U.S. airstrike on a Palau-flagged tanker near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday have attracted little international attention. Modi has not publicly commented on the attack, leaving it to the foreign ministry to lodge a routine diplomatic protest. Nor was this an isolated incident. It was the third tanker carrying Indian crew members to be struck by the U.S. military this week. On Monday, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet used precision-guided munitions against another tanker in the Gulf of Oman, forcing Omani authorities to evacuate all 24 Indian sailors aboard. Then today, a U.S. aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles into the engine room of a Guinea-Bissau-flagged tanker off the Omani coast, sparking a major fire. Fortunately, all 20 Indian crew members survived.

BREAKING: Iran's Foreign Ministry directly rejects Trump's new claim that "everyone in Iran has approved the deal," including the Supreme Leader, saying no one has accepted it, and "no agreement has been reached," per Fars. Any agreement requires the US to "accept every demand" from Iran, including that it won't surrender enriched uranium or make nuclear concessions, that the Strait of Hormuz remains permanently under Iranian management, and the transfer of $24 billion in frozen funds. Iran adds "if it were to yield under pressure, it would have done so a year ago" rather than after sustained US bombing. The spokesperson also denied Trump's claim that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen on a deal signing, saying it "remains closed" under Iranian authority and "safe passage is not possible."

I checked PM Modi’s timeline expecting at least a word of sympathy for the three Indians killed in a U.S. military strike. There is none. Not a condolence message. Not a public expression of grief. Instead, the timeline is dominated by replies to world leaders congratulating him on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister.

The United States and India signed a bilateral Critical Minerals Framework, marking a milestone in the strategic partnership between the U.S. and India. This sets us on a path toward reliable & resilient mineral supply chains, reinforcing key objectives established by @POTUS.

Not just the ED but the @nytimes is accountable for its shoot and scoot journalism that brought down an independent online media outlet in India and led to the harassment of journalists. Now the High Court finds nothing wrong and says the ED misused its powers.
The 2023 raids and ED case against NewsClick came after a New York Times story that helped fuel a crackdown on the newsroom. The result: a media organization dismantled and dozens of journalists thrown out of work. Yesterday, the court has quashed the FIR against NewsClick and its editor, calling the case a “gross abuse of law”. But the bigger question is who holds the NYT accountable for its role in demolishing a newsroom at a time when independent media in India is already gasping for breath under the Modi government's tightening stranglehold? I wrote then about NYT’s shameful role in undoing a newsroom doing vital, critical work. Read if you haven’t. institute.aljazeera.net/en/a…

INTERESTING: If Nehru became PM only after the 1952 election as is now being claimed , then was Sardar Patel never really Deputy PM and India’s first Home Minister since he died in 1950? The trouble with cherry-picking history is that it eventually contradicts itself.🙏

After Vote Chori and Sarkar Chori - the BJP-EC jugalbandi has finished the contest before it has even begun with Seat Chori. Look at what happened in the recent Rajya Sabha elections. Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan ji submitted every document. No pending cases. The EC cancelled her nomination on a frivolous BJP objection. Parimal Nathwani ji, the BJP-backed independent, got his own name wrong on the form and skipped multiple mandatory disclosures. The EC gave him an extension to fix everything. Same Election Commission. Two candidates. One was disqualified without even a hearing. The other was rewarded despite not following the rules. When the Congress sought a meeting, the EC first tried to evade us. When we finally met, they did not say one word. Expect to see much more of this - because for the BJP, it is far easier to fix the election than to win it.
