...is the message from Celtic fans. Robbie Keane is in the frame to be appointed as the next Celtic manager. This would be another shameful act by a Celtic board who are in constant conflict with the club's supporters and the values of the club which are recognised worldwide.

Sturgeon kept her husband on as SNP chief exec because it was politically advantageous and allowed her to maintain the tightest possible control over the party and the country. This mess stems from that decision and responsibility for that decision lies solely with Sturgeon.

Sturgeon doesn't have to 'process' any of this publicly. She doesn't have to publish memoirs or go on to TV or appear at literary festivals in Ireland. She doesn't have to talk about her 'pain' on stage. It's all a choice. Genuinely cynical AF.
NEW: Former first minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she is having 'probably the worst week' of her life She was speaking at a public appearance at Listowel Writers’ Week in Co Kerry, Ireland 👇

Sturgeon can dress this scandal up in the marketable language of trauma & recovery all she wants but as Campbell Gunn says what matters is that she kept her husband in post after she became FM and party leader. Subsequent failures stem from that decision. bbc.com/news/articles/cpdp3d…

Notable/ominous that there's a Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Reform but none for independence.

Today Swinney appointed to his cabinet: Gillian Martin, who used to do PR for oil and gas, Hannah Mary Goodlad, formerly of Equinor, and Stephen Flynn, who says he will be the voice of the oil and gas industry in parliament. There might be a theme developing here ...

Or government or whatever.

A bold strategy given what just happened in Glasgow Southside and Edinburgh Central.
Unionist MP’s must put aside their party politics and support @theSNP’s amendment to the King’s Speech today. With our amendment we will prioritise domestic production of oil and gas while continuing to advance renewables and the just transition.

Struck by the contrast between Scottish Labour and UK Labour at the minute. The latter, however chaotic, mismanaged etc, at least seems to have a survival instinct. ScotLab is just meekly, terminally carrying on as if nothing happened on 7 May.

To be clear: at a very basic level, there are better people in Scottish Labour than Sarwar. He's not popular and his record is atrocious. The fact that he's still in post suggests the party is even softer internally than it looks from afar.

Forgot to mention that one true source of Scottish Labour strength: Easdale money.

The Green surge in the Scottish Parliament election was extraordinary, with support for the party hitting a record high of 14% as it became the third-largest force. Many voters see the Greens as a left flank of the independence movement. jacobin.com/2026/05/scotland…

After last week’s election, for the first time since the creation of the Scottish Parliament 27 years ago, it will play host to a sizable contingent of politicians from the extreme right of the political spectrum in the shape of Reform UK. jacobin.com/2026/05/scotland…

"The SNP has just won a record fifth consecutive term in office and British unionism is in disarray. But look more closely at the party and you will find acute signs of decay." Some belated reflections on the election from me, for Jacobin. jacobin.com/2026/05/scotland…
