Usually when people ask me if I can code my answer is “I can get it done” because with enough time anything’s possible. But I think there’s a big leap from knowing basic shell scripts to writing an automation tool in python

This is so incredibly unethical behaviour on so many levels. I've seen the "let's keep them listed as sponsors"-practice before, but never came across fake speaker line ups. Or so I thought. Gross.
Imagine a tech conference having no CFP, as they reach out to speakers directly. They successfully attract some of the most heavy hitter men speakers in tech, and 3 women speakers. Now imagine my surprise that 2 of those women are FAKE profiles. They do not exist. Nada.

There is NOTHING wrong with this. IMO this should be the default. This is how it should be for most people. It takes you a good 5-7 years on the job to become a senior engineer -- or let's just call it what it really is, a professional software engineer.
If I plateau at Senior Software Engineer is that okay? I’ve turned down Lead. I don’t want to deal with people more. I’m bad at it. I want to write code. Mentor a bit. What’s wrong with that?

I just replaced my iPhone 12 Mini battery and it was the most difficult battery swap I ever did. Opening the phone was so hard, I had to build a tool to put constant pull force on the device and add heat and isopropyl alcohol to solve the glue.

Yes, I created my own iFixIt Anti-clamp and didn't spend 20 bucks for it. I'm unemployed at the moment and I didn't want to afford a professional repair for 100€ or an overpriced tool. The battery and replacement glue strips cost 30€.

My humble *plea* to #opensource projects out there: please write OPINIONATED documentation. When I'm trying your thing out for the first time, 13 possible installation options is NOT HELPFUL. Give me ONE that works most of the time, with a pointer to more if I'm feeling fancy.

While I'm still unemployed I decided to keep myself busy and explore new areas that I haven't been into yet. There's always something new to learn. Here I am, helping out in a Döner Imbiss (a Turkish Bistro) at Munich-Pasing train station. Come by, say hi, try our Kebap. ❤️

Soooo sweet! Thank you so much, @gitpod, for this lovely surprise pack. Kudos to your head of community and awesome DevRel @paw_lean who I had the pleasure to meet with in Bilbao last week. (Sshhh! She's even more badass than your surprise packs! 🤍)
