Today, in my personal study, I learned about modern political/social philosophy's efforts to define rights in two categories: negative and positive.
Negative rights are the ones that we are able to exercise due to lack of interference in them. These are our natural, God-given, inalienable rights.
Positive rights would be the ones that we are unable to exercise without societal & governmental intervention.
Interestingly, our natural human rights - which come from God and are inalienable - are always infringed every time someone decides that "positive rights" are real things that the government must protect and enforce.
