Been looking for a book with a unique setting, a strong voice, and that will jab rusty scissors into your heart intermittently, but by the last page will have sanitized those wounds and put it all back together? You could read about Josh's nearly impossible effort to free himself from the cult he's been born and raised in: amazon.com/dp/B00PHDR4LS

I did today. You should do it too!
When was the last time you left a review for a book you liked, hmmm? You were going to get around to it when you had the time, right? Hey - you're doomscrolling. You have the time RIGHT NOW. Go leave that review! THEN reward yourself with some memes. open.substack.com/pub/samrob…

I would watch this too. I liked Capaldi, however.
I would actually watch this, and I haven't watched since the end of the David Tennant era.

And then tradpub wonders why it's circling the drain and whines that "men don't read." Men read. They read me. They read Baen. They read other indie authors. What they don't read is smut aimed at women, which is what most of tradpub has become. By the way, I have a new book out that men would probably enjoy. amazon.com/dp/B0H3F99HSK/
welcome to capitalism men just don't read literature anymore ask anyone inside the business and they'll tell you Romance has kept book sales in the black for decades. as men have stopped reading, why does it surprise people that targeting female readers has grown?

"For decades, researchers have argued that a key source of falling fertility was that men didn’t help out enough at home. [But this] Father’s Day, it’s worth noting that this theory is almost certainly wrong: today’s dads do more than ever." @lymanstoneky ifstudies.org/blog/american-…

Also, Disclosure Day is, for me, kind of mid. I'm trying to figure out why, beyond super predictable writing.

Brisket is in the smoker. Now I sleep for 4 hours, then get up, spray it down with apple cider vinegar, refill the water reservoir, and sleep for ~3 more hours. Tasty dinner coming in 15 hours.

This here's a good post. Show it some love, breXren.
Today, in my personal study, I learned about modern political/social philosophy's efforts to define rights in two categories: negative and positive. Negative rights are the ones that we are able to exercise due to lack of interference in them. These are our natural, God-given, inalienable rights. Positive rights would be the ones that we are unable to exercise without societal & governmental intervention. Interestingly, our natural human rights - which come from God and are inalienable - are always infringed every time someone decides that "positive rights" are real things that the government must protect and enforce.

This is a huge number, no doubt. Can't even wrap my brain around it. That said, this doesn't mean he suddenly has $1.2 Trillion in liquid money. We all understand this, right? Still a massive number.
This is just insane! What would you do with that amount of wealth?

As a teacher of English as a second/foreign language, I love this kid's tenacity and courage. As a lover of burgers, I love this kid's reaction of bliss. As a preferer of anything but In-N-Out, I invite him to try Carl's Jr.

-Squatters took over his mom's house -Didn't know how to get them out and discovered how difficult the legal process can be for homeowners -Found a legal workaround where he could move into the house himself and essentially become the squatter's new roommate -Realized this was a much bigger problem than most people knew -Started making videos helping homeowners get their properties back -Went viral -Now has a reality TV show where he travels the country out-squatting squatters

In deep-blue DC, many liberal families are thriving. What’s their secret? A mix of egalitarian and traditional values. Parents both work, but husbands earn more. They typically have elite degrees AND a churchgoing level higher than the American average.

YES! And God is good.
People ask me how I stay so optimistic. The honest answer: I read the data, not the headlines.
