Our study is now in print! We examined genetic divergence between bee- vs. hummingbird-pollinated populations of #penstemon and find they're all mixed up ... surprisingly few loci distinguish the two types!
A study of #Penstemons with #bee & #hummingbird #pollination syndromes, by @carriewessi @LenaHileman &co, reveals ~20 "species-diagnostic loci" with fixed differences between syndromes, sprinkled throughout the genome in high-recomb regions #PLOSBiology plos.io/3LGHkD9

Ready to share this preprint about the basis of a shift from egg-laying to live-birth in Littorina. We find evidence for live-bearer specific sweeps at many loci, overlapping with genes that are differential expressed btwn reproductive systems. pls share! biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

The paper describing GENESPACE is out today in @eLife. doi.org/10.7554/eLife.78526 We show how you can integrate synteny and orthology to uncover some cool stuff: autosome-sex chromosome fusions, inversions underlying QTL, homeologous exchange, and much more!
