"Today is a good day. 🤙🏾"
You know, I suppose you're right. It hasn't been so far, and I truly haven't felt that way in quite some time, but those are just excuses. That's on me.
Thank you for the inspiration.
Nearly time to kick things off at #NebraskaCode with my opening keynote, #celebrateYourExpert. In less than an hour, this room will be full.

Watching @jayharris deliver their Overcoming Impostor Syndrome keynote and I'm absolutely hooked. What a great way to open up @DenverDevDay!
Insanely good talk!
Hey, #devupconf. Let’s talk about the journey to starting your own business and becoming an independent consultant. Right now. Room 105.

Hey, #devupconf, are you thinking of going independent and starting your own business? You should come to my session on Friday: “#FreedomShift: A Developer’s Path to Independent Consultant.” Friday, 8:30am in Rm 105

It’s been above 115°/45°C all week here in Vegas. “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you, but I love it.”
The pool is up to 92°. Almost matches the hot tub. And at 20 degrees below the air temperature, it is still refreshing.
I disagree with the bad rap given to “unlimited vacation”. That’s a bit like blaming the arrow for missing the target. If vacation isn’t taken, or there’s a perception against using it, that’s an issue with management, not with the policy.
Attitude reflects leadership. Always.
A burnt out employee is less effective than a lazy one. Yes, less effective.
A lazy employee is at least motivated to find ways to do less work; a burnt out employee isn’t motivated to do much of anything at all.
If your staff hates your Unlimited Vacation policy, that’s a you issue, a culture issue, a business issue. The solution isn’t to shift back to a fixed-vacation setup, the solution is for you to do better as a leader.
So do better.
Watching @luckygirliegirl present “How to Say No without Being a Jerk.” via her livestream from #ndclondon. She is such a wonderful and dynamic speaker.
