Strongly oppose creating a charter school in Schenectady. Any charter school will divert resources and distract from the mission of a fair and equitable public education for all. Our focus should be on ensuring @SCSchools has the resources they need for every student to succeed.

Today we tearfully say goodbye to over 80 of our colleagues and friends. Today will be hard. This loss is unfair and unjust. APSTA will keep fighting for funding to be restored in the hopes that we will soon welcome our sisters and brothers back.

NEW: NYS Budget spokesman says the state will not withhold any of the scheduled state aid that was owed to school districts in less than 2 weeks.
This comes right after @nysut introduced a lawsuit to sue NYS over potential 20% funding cuts.
