Did you miss my photos of me in my surgery gown, IV line, Oxygen mask, surgical incisions, etc. That’s because I didn’t want to bore you with such trivia. The procedure took 1 hour, and PACU 1.5 hours. I’m home. I’m in pain, but the end result will be well worth it. That’s all, folks!
I’m having a surgical procedure tomorrow to implant a spinal cord stimulator. I won’t be posting pics of me in that cute little gown and surgical bonnet, IV lines, O2 tubing, or bandaged area where the battery is implanted. No one needs to see anyone else’s hospital attire. Just my opinion.
Why are people begging for followers to reach a goal of over 1000 or more? Does it make a difference in how much X pays them? I honestly don’t understand the push.
Ben Sass—Just learned today in Church that Ben Sass just died. Pastor gave a sermon on suffering and played 2 clips from Ben Sass’s recent appearance on 60 minutes.
I’ll give you a definition for POS, one most civilians don’t know. In the Army, it was my husband’s MOS. Anyone got it? Petroleum Oil Specialist. He and his buddies would knock over 55 gallon oil drums and see who could get them upright the quickest. Happy Friday.
Not every decision, illness, or sadness needs to be posted. That’s it. I love to see good news. I’m 90% certain I’ll be starting a new job soon. When that happens, I’ll be on here less.
The city government of Wichita, Kansas, just instituted paid parking in their downtown lots, and made it illegal for people to back into their space because parking patrol can’t see their license plates. What’s wrong with the parking patrol officers getting out of their vehicles and scanning the license plates? When I oversaw parking patrol in a municipal government in Oregon, we didn’t care which direction cars were parked.
I just followed back several people that follow me. I appreciate the follow, but I don’t appreciate the DMs. So, if you’re following me and I follow you back, DO NOT DM ME!
Many moons and suns ago. Mom and I were on the way to my brother’s place when we had a flat. Mom was about to get the jack out of the trunk when a nice young man stopped to help. As he was changing the tire, Mom introduced herself. He asked if she was related to Officer League, and she said that he’s her son. He said, “Tell him —and he gave his name—that I said hello.” When Mom relayed the message, my brother said that he’s pulled him over several times for speeding in a school zone, and now Will would have to cut him some slack. Then he told Mom never to tell anyone she doesn’t know that he’s a cop.

Just musing on grief: On 5/4/86, my husband Jim died sometime after midnight unexpectedly. I had gotten up early that Sunday morning which wasn’t normal for me. After I found him dead and the coroner came and left, I spent the rest of that day and night with a friend and her boyfriend. He actually hit on me that Monday morning and I left immediately. When I got home I found it strangely soothing to fold all Jim’s laundry that we washed the day before. I married again on 3/26/88.
When I was a boarding student attending the American Community School in Beirut from ‘67-68, we each had to serve as waiters for 6 weeks responsible for 2 tables each seating 8. This was a rotation. Our cooks were Armenian men. Once someone at a table I served complained that the spatula used to serve the pie was dirty, and it was. I took it back to the kitchen and asked for a clean one. I watched that cook rinse the same spatula, then dried it by pulling it under his arm. I returned it to the table and didn’t say a word, and no one complained.
