A report’s calling for training standards to be introduced to those who give certain cosmetic procedures. @DawnLetsfaceit is a campaigner in #CountyDurham, an advocate at @JointCCP and says we should not see advertising for some procedures, and we should be seeing safety warnings

Today I called on the Government to introduce disclaimers on adverts for cosmetic procedures, similar to those displayed on gambling and alcohol advertisements.
I want to see that patients are aware of the inherent risks involved in these procedures.

You should always research your practitioner and check that they are a registered practitioner, with experience in the treatment you are looking to have, as well as checking online reviews, treatment portfolios and the products that they use.

Given the current Wild West the relentless illegal ads for POMs on social media, next to no redress or reporting of complications, no requirement to be qualified or insured if your not a HCP, its about as out of control as it gets! Licencing can't come soon enough. @Jeremy_Hunt
The JCCP has received multiple complaints concerning the illegal practice of offering #botulinumtoxin injections to under 18's despite the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act coming into force last year.
