hey guys! i'm moving on from my current comms job at Able (able.co.nz) and am putting it on here because it may be pretty perfect for a journo/media person sick of being a journo. it's cool mahi (NFP), media-related, fun times. more here: tinyurl.com/4bd8nsfs

Past Pasture employees spoke to me and @kirsty_fong about their experiences working there for the latest issue; the full story is now online now. TLDR: “The food is great,” one past employee admits, “but is that enough to justify everything else?” metromag.co.nz/food/food-res…

i have a story in the new issue, out tomorrow, on fine-dining restaurant Pasture. it is regarded as one of the best restaurants in New Zealand, but former employees spoke to me and Kirsty Fong about underpayment and working in a toxic environment
1 Sep 2021
Also: @chris__schulz spent a night with Auckland's ghostbusters, Bob Harvey spent a lifetime with Tim Shadbolt, @jmnicholls protected Pūtiki, and @jeaninprogress investigated accusations of underpayment and a toxic workplace at fine dining restaurant Pasture.

it's an important story, for many reasons. above all, it's a reflection of the ingrained problems and culture rampant in the wider hospitality industry that need to change. please read it, if you can. and a big thank you to everyone i spoke to for this.
