Canceled @github Copilot Pro. Was only 4 days into June and was already at 90% of my add'l budget. Yes, they need to be profitable, but @Microsoft could have started sooner and proceeded more gradually. There was no need for the sudden spike. Using @AnthropicAI directly for now.

Mmmm I wonder what could be in this mysterious box on National @Toppot Day?

It’s hard to love the @KIRO7Seattle website. Today’s broadcast promoted their ferry links. They don’t work.

It’s interesting how some people can see defects like the Woke Mind Virus, Trump Derangement Syndrome, and all kinds of blindspots in other people, but can't detect any blindspots of their own. It must be nice to have a perfect understanding of the universe (or to think you do).

While it's great that Visual Studio @Code Chat supports Claude Sonnet 4.5 now, what I'm REALLY looking forward to is Clem Kadiddlehopper 2.0.

Today is the 30th anniversary of the release of Windows 95. It was a very memorable day. Special thanks to the team and all those who made it happen.

5.25 floppies can be surprisingly reliable, even when not properly stored. The first disk pictured was perfectly readable. I have my doubts about the second though (I have not mustered the courage to try).

Happy Win 95 launch day! 29 years ago we launched Windows 95 in Redmond, WA. A very memorable day for all of us involved in Win 95. Thanks to @MisterMorrill for the reminder.

msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show… Perhaps the presidential oath needs to be updated: “…will, to the best of my ability, UNDERSTAND, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

I found this Gab post rather sad. It speaks of wisdom, grace, unity, faith, healing, etc -- and then it lashes out at "liberals" and calls for total disengagement. The hypocrisy and blindness of religious and conservative fanatics always surprises me. news.gab.com/2024/07/fight-f…

Wonderful to hear how smashingly well things have gone for the Brits after 14 godawful years of conservative buffoonery. 😂

Tomorrow (midnight July 1) is Checkpoint Day. Let’s hope there are no extinction-level events today (lest we must relive the past 12 months over again) or tomorrow (lest we only have hours or even minutes to prevent the event). #TheLazarusProject imdb.com/title/tt14190592/?r…

Twitter (and @elonmusk) unilaterally disabling a feature with no way to re-enable it underscores the sad state of modern software. Users have no choice. We must take a program as-is and agree to its terms, there are few alternatives, and none of them offer true customization.

Windows never fails to remind us that it's a really old operating system full of legacy code... like this popup reminiscent of Internet Explorer 25 years ago. And as before, pressing Y or N repeatedly is useless (you have to switch VS from embedded web browser to system browser)
