We visited the Catedral de San José in Antigua today. The current building opened in 1680 and much of it collapsed in the earthquake of 1773 that ruined virtually all of Antigua. The part of the church that is in use today is just the original narthex. 1/7

I never knew about this one! I saw the “A Streetcar Named Desire”
The funniest discovery from my current dive into Tennessee Williams works is the sheer number of movie screenplays that were later remade with Jessica Lange

As a conservative Christian pastor, I know I'm an easy target for some. But I bet my critics never had to sit with a grieving parent whose son was turned gay by a Pride t-shirt display in a Target store. When do we get a Straight People month??!!🙏🇺🇸

WATCH — @abbydphillip: “What about the law, Scott?” @ScottJenningsKY: “What about it? Who cares?” 🤔 Refreshing honesty from the smuggest man in the world. The law does not matter to them.

New piece. Losing the war with Iran is probably the best thing possible for the US. It highlights the corruption and incompetence at the top of the US system and might lead to soul-searching that will make things better in the long run. The US needs to learn humility.

Very exciting to have the Black National Anthem performed with the CSO for the first time. @jamesgaffigan had the audience stand, as we should. (He also wore Christian Louboutin shoes ♥️ )

I loved watching this at the time and still have the video.
Imagine it's 1572, you're married to the wrong man, miserable, and still in love with your forbidden crush…then Meyerbeer drops this. Throwback to singing Valentine in Meyerbeer's "Les Huguenots" at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in 2020, conducted by Marc Minkowski.

That the U.S. military is losing the first war of the drone era while the television-trained defense secretary focuses on facial hair and push-ups is probably not a coincidence. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0…

“I think I’m greedy, but I’m not greedy for money – I think that can be a burden…I can find excitement, I admit, in raindrops falling on a puddle and a lot of people wouldn’t. I intend to have it exciting until the day I fall over.” RIP David Hockney

Among many other accomplishments, David Hockney designed sets for operas. Here are two of his Turandot sets, which we saw in Chicago a couple of times.

Not only a great painter, David Hockney had the most engaged, enquiring mind of his generation of artists. He experimented ceaselessly and, like Picasso, brought passion and exactitude to every medium he touched. His sense of colour was spectacular but I loved his drawings. RIP
