Is this the craziest time there has been in tech? Is this the peak?
As a result of a US government directive, we are suspending access to Claude Fable 5 for all users. You can continue to use all other Claude models. Here’s what this means for you: Across Claude products, new sessions will run on your selected default model or Opus 4.8, and existing Fable 5 sessions will end with an error. On the Claude Platform, requests to Fable 5 will also return an error. Please update your integrations to other Claude models. We know this is a disruption to your workflows; we appreciate your patience and support.

@simpsoka 👋 little thing that maybe you could get patched? when codex completes an update, it drops all the unread thread states 😅

Never got a reply here but I noticed this was fixed - entirely coincidence, or was it helpful and i should keep these coming?

I'm working on a Clerk feature that would allow you to send emails - transactional marketing campaigns, tied directly to your users. It's gonna be a bit before we have something ready to use, but I would love to get some feedback on what would be most useful if interested!

Shipped four security improvements this week: device trust for new sign-ins, passkey login, stronger password requirements, smoother bot detection. Zero new auth code written. All via @clerk dashboard. Choosing the right vendor is sometimes its own feature.

The benchmark of a good software engineer is no longer engineering skill, it's "AI wrangling" skill. There is definitely a lot of overlap to be fair, but this is still a fundamental change in how this job works and that is still mind blowing for me.

It is exhausting for sure, bc we are all trying to speedrun skill development in this area on top of juggling everything else we're responsible for, and navigating an extraordinary volume of BS at the same time 😓

Almost every engineer I talk to, and in the last week I have spoken with a lot, from absolute beginners to some of the best in the industry, has tons of thoughts and feelings about this, and is also entirely exhausted by it. The fact that we all "need AI therapy" has been both an amusing and true thread of conversation every time.

I'm pleased gpt-5.5 likes creatures.

gpt-5.5 prompt for codex seems to have a duplicated line trying to get it to not talk about creatures? Never talk about goblins, gremlins, raccoons, trolls, ogres, pigeons, or other animals or creatures unless it is absolutely and unambiguously relevant to the user's query. hey @thsottiaux, any chance we could get an option for a model in codex with system instructions to always talk about goblins, gremlins, raccoons, trolls, ogres, pigeons, or other animals or creatures at any opportunity, just for research purposes? honestly, probably would be hilarious marketing. gpt-5.5-goblin?
