I do think this is missing the point dramatically. Lots of people from across the political spectrum are worried about the performance of the Building Safety Regulator and how rules can be safely tweaked to speed up house building. However building safety must come first >>
This is why @Keir_Starmer is asking for the Reform housing guy to be sacked?? It's just a statement of the obvious that stringent new safety rules have costs, and maybe those costs have to be weighed against the purported benefits? That this is controversial is insane.

Thinking of survivors and those bereaved in Grenfell, and also there have been serious safety issues found in thousands of other buildings too after Grenfell. In many cases they are still living with fear about what would happen in case of a fire, as work hasn’t been completed

It really matters to take these things seriously

If anyone deserves to be on a six figure salary it’s a doctor?!
Somewhat strange to hear @bbcnickrobinson haranguing an NHS Consultant for being on “over £100,000” and claiming to channel the feelings of ordinary people. His salary in 2024 was between £345,000 - £349,000. For presenting radio programs. Which never saved anyone’s life?

Well I’m back here for the breaking news on the war unfortunately. In the time since I last posted I had a stranger phone me via Facebook messenger to try and get me to sell my account to them for $1500.

Within the housing shortage, one group is particularly affected: families in need of a larger home. But how big is the demand? And how can building policy and allocations change, to ease the problem? My story for @insidehousing insidehousing.co.uk/insight/…

Journo request for a project I'm working on. Looking to speak to people who bought a house in London in the 1980s on an ordinary income. Not an inter-generational war exercise - more an attempt to provide some genuine reflection into how the city has changed over the decades

This is one of those stories that sounds bad in a headline - the council spending millions on an estate it plans to demolish! But many of the shocking disrepair stories relate to landlords withholding repairs on estates which have been designated as needing regeneration

Ideally obviously the regeneration would not be stalled, or wouldn't have been started if it can't be done, and residents wouldn't be messed around, that's hopefully a given
