Hemorrhage accounts for 40-50% of deaths in severe trauma patients. IV administration of TXA within three hours of injury reduces mortality. In this study we show IM TXA is equally efficacious as IV in treating hyperfibrinolysis in an in vivo swine model. journals.lww.com/jtrauma/ful…

Addressing the Growing Nursing Crisis: More Than Just a Numbers Problem The healthcare industry faces a significant challenge that extends far beyond the apparent shortages in nursing staff. As we continue to lose experienced nurses, the impact on institutional knowledge and the quality of patient care is profound and troubling. Our latest article offers an in-depth analysis of the widening experience gap in nursing, highlighting the departure of seasoned professionals and the subsequent challenges faced by healthcare facilities. We also explore crucial strategies for bridging the divide between nursing education and practice, including enhancing academic-practice partnerships and rethinking how clinical skills are developed and assessed. The piece further discusses the need for a systemic shift in how we prepare, support, and retain nurses, emphasizing a more robust, competency-based approach to onboarding and continuous professional development. Discover how innovative solutions and collaborative efforts can lead to a more competent and resilient nursing workforce, equipped to meet the evolving demands of healthcare. Our insights aim to foster discussions on sustainable practices that go beyond merely increasing staff numbers to nurturing skilled professionals ready to excel in their roles.
