Story time! Mom was an asst. manager for yrs when corporate suddenly fired the manager (imo, too $$ for their liking) and moved all assts to hourly. Told us with overtime she was likely to make more annually. We said just wait until they realize. They "fixed" her pay again.

The United States can destroy Irans infrastructure, but it cannot destroy Iranian knowledge. These strikes may set Iran back, but it is also likely to incentivize Iran toward the bomb. The US still needs a plan for deescalation & a long term strategy to prevent proliferation

New: US Intel agencies assess that despite Israel's attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, Tehran has not made the decision to move to a nuclear bomb. That will likely change, officials say, if the U.S. attacks Fordo or Israel kills the supreme leader. More: nytimes.com/2025/06/19/us/po…

The national security argument for resuming underground explosive nuclear testing in Nevada does not pass the test. In fact, it would be a self-inflicted national security risk. My opinion piece for @TheNVIndy ⬇️thenevadaindependent.com/art…

“We rose up. We shared our stories of survival. We said: humanity and nuclear weapons cannot coexist.” Setsuko Thurlow (pictured) was just 13 years old when an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, the city she lived in. She is one of the Hibakusha - the survivors of the horrific bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that took place in August 1945. This year’s #NobelPeacePrize was awarded to the Japanese organisation Nihon Hidankyo. This grassroots movement of atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, also known as Hibakusha, received the peace prize for its efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons and for demonstrating through witness testimony that nuclear weapons must never be used again. Thanks @ArmsControlNow for inviting me to write on the US presidential election and nuclear modernization. It is up to the next president to understand the difference between security and supremacy and prioritize a wholistic strategic review that includes real talk on risk.
The next US president, inheriting a $1.7 trillion program to modernize the nuclear arsenal, needs to rethink nuclear strategy to avoid fear-based, short-term thinking... @JMSleight writes in the latest Arms Control Today feature section.
