I've committed to an alt-layout some weeks ago. It's a very painful and laborious process but I just hit a new PB and 50wpm consistently now. Worth the effort for me (👋RSI) and I should have done it earlier. Still nowhere close to my prev speed😔

I can only second this. I started teaching this year and it has such a positive impact on myself that I wish I would have done it earlier

Yeah, you can have your fun and say rewrite Twitter in Rust but we all know actual impact requires PHP.

If I visit a website with curl I won’t most certainly download the fonts from Google or stuff from a CDN like Fastly. It’s not mandatory.

We don’t blame a restaurant for offering an unhealthy dish on their menu. I don’t have to eat it and if I’d want to that’s my choice but we start to declare what belongs on the menu and what not. It’s getting more and more ridiculous

Reading more on the @Spotify GDPR issue and having to deal with a Google fonts recently I wonder: if a user visits a website, why is it the person delivering the website that has to ensure the client isn’t loading resources they don’t want? 1/n

If you don’t want to load data from a CDN then don’t. That’s your choice. Block the host name. Confirm every external resource that’s loaded. But how did this become the burden of the person offering the website.

Will the engineers that fail to deliver Autopilot start doing code reviews at Twitter? Or will it be the ones that try to catapult humans through a vacuum tube. Asking for a friend…

I've taken my @Shadertoy render and asked #stablediffusion to turn it into a photograph. First picture is my input. I enjoy this combo because you can tweak your input precisely with math and get something stunning as a result.

To recap Spice DAO: A dude (Soby) made a bunch of crypto by selling a cryptopunk to an NFL player that the punk kinda resembled. Then he saw that a copy of Jodorowski's Dune (the production bible, not the movie) was up for auction.

The clever people at @NASA have created this deceptively simple yet highly effective data visualisation showing monthly global temperatures between 1880-2021. Watch until the end... Learn more here - svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4975 #ClimateEmergency #ClimateCrisis #climate

How about this: search terms like mifepristone enter incognito mode automatically and do not become part of the browser history ..?
