Impending death stripes you clean of everything you once thought important. What is left is the essence of life which for me are the countless positive relationships I’ve had and continue to have.
Steve Jobs... He died a billionaire at the age of 56. And his last words make us think about the meaning of life... - After all, wealth is just a life experience I've had the opportunity to know. At this moment, as I lay sick in bed reminiscing my entire life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth I achieved are insignificant and lack higher meaning in the face of impending death... So, take my advice and be courteous and considerate of others. As we get older, we become smarter and we gradually realize that a $30 watch and a $300 watch show the same time... Whether we wear $30 or $300 purses, the same amount of money can fit in both.. Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car, the journey and the distance are the same, we always reach the same destination …. #HIMSS23

@john_chilmark #HIMSS23. There it is. Less than 30 minutes into the conference and I think I see THE hot phrase for this year’s conference: Health Data Utilities.

This industry has had well over a decade to fix this. Despite all the patient-centered care BS they spew, reality is, this is not a priority.

@john_chilmark #HIMSS23 watching a session on “the digital front door” patient access and moderation of health information. A disappointing discussion. Almost no discussion of data moderation or ability to correct errors. Not close enough to emerging critical topics.

I’ve been asking both Epic and Cerner to build out this functionality for yrs now. They think connecting out to content play eg #healthwise is enuf. Not!
pretty cool to see a truly novel idea pop up 21st century cures created a lot of good things, but at least one problem to be solved - faster lab results that stressed patients and pushed physicians to communicate out of working hours prnewswire.com/news-releases…

Good outline but only applies to physician roll-up plays that PE firms have been active acquiring. Not only physicians though, my dentist, who fits target demographic gets 2-3 offers per week to be acquired.

There is a monster leak of Arctic air heading towards the whole of North America. Many places will experience -20C. These leaks are becoming more frequent as the jet stream weakens. This is a new climate. The stability of the Holocene is over.

Staggering. When will public finally wake up and say No? Legislatures won’t do anything until there is a critical mass of voters demanding action.
For months, @statnews and @themarkup have been tracking dozens of telehealth companies sending users' health data — including details on medical history, prescriptions, and substance use — to big tech platforms. statnews.com/2022/12/13/tele… What the investigation found:
