The thing I love most about being a trader is the freedom.
I love that I can do whatever the fuck I want.
I wake up at 1am because I'm an Australian trader, but the important part is that nobody is forcing me to wake up. There's no boss calling me, no manager wondering where I am, no threat of being written up for being late. I choose to get up because I want to. And if I decide I need more sleep, I can roll over and go back to sleep without answering to anyone.
I train when it suits me. If I want a morning gym session, I go in the morning. If I want to train in the afternoon, I train in the afternoon. I'm not rushing from work, exhausted after a long day, hoping I still have enough energy left to get a decent workout in. I have time to plan my meals, recover properly, and train at my best because I run on my own schedule.
If the weather is perfect and I feel like spending the day outside, I can. I can sit in the sun, go for a walk, grab a coffee, or spend the day with people I care about. I don't need to call in sick, make excuses, or wait months for annual leave approval.
If I want to travel, I travel. If I want to book a flight next week, I can. If I want to spend a month overseas, I can. In many cases, I can even make money while I'm there.
But more than anything, I can spend time with my family.
And that's the part people don't talk about enough.
Money is great. Winning is great. Building wealth is great. But time is the one thing you never get back. Being able to have breakfast with family, help someone when they need it, show up for important moments, or simply spend more time with the people you love is worth more than any paycheck.
Trading gave me something money can't buy.
It gave me ownership of my time.
