Deeply outraged? No. By the time we colonize Luna, Mars, and the Belt, and have the first interstellar expedition launched toward Promixa, historians will look back on how little Elon Musk was rewarded for his efforts. They will still be awed by his putting a car in orbit.

Be brutally honest: Are you deeply outraged that, while hundreds of millions of Americans and I are struggling financially, Elon Musk has now become the world's first trillionaire, with more wealth than he could spend in 1,000 lifetimes? Yes or no?

Today's reminder that reality is more than matter in motion.
Math is ontologically real. Numbers exist independently of the human mind and the material world.

This is the most John C Wrightian post ever written by someone I am not. Welcome, twin sibling in spirit! @roseromaunt
Decolonize your vocabulary. Stop saying “Asia” and “The West.” Instead say “the orient” and “the occident.” Stop saying “Muslim” and start saying “Mohammedan.” Stop saying “Middle East” and start saying levant. Stop saying “northern” and “southern,” say “boreal” and “meridional.”

Words of wisdom from the Mountain who Writes
For all these dumbasses claiming if they had Elon's money they'd end world hunger, cause world peace, educate everyone, or whatever, blah blah blah... No you wouldn't. You're full of shit and everyone knows it, because that's not how the world works. Throwing money at a problem doesn't fix it. The entire history of government demonstrates that. Saying vapid nonsense just makes weak, unimaginative people with a childlike grasp on reality feel better about themselves for caring harder, while accomplishing nothing. Meanwhile, the guy you hate revolutionized EVs and self driving cars, brought affordable reliable internet to every corner of the Earth, and is making the dream of colonizing space real. And the process of doing all that has given hundreds of thousands of people jobs. While you posture about how you'd give everybody an imaginary unicorn, he's done stuff that's actually changed the world for the better. And you don't get it. You can't get it. Because you're just too fucking small.

For the record, the claim that Marxism fails because and only because men are selfish is absurd. Earlier communists, such as Gracchus Babeuf, thought greed caused all other sins and social ills, and that the elimination of private property would eliminate greed hence eliminate all sins and social ills, and re-create Eden before the Fall. Marx followed this idea and went further, saying man are shaped by their institutions, so that evolving their institutions evolve man. He envisions a New Jerusalem, where human nature evolves into a "species being" where all men are one collective hive mind where individuals are sacrificed selflessly to the needs of the hive, selflessly, without hesitation. (Please see THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS for a find depiction of a hell where all men consume and absorb each other's lives in an endless vampire feast.) But Marxism does not fail because men are sinful or selfish. Marxism fails because it must. Even with elves or angels, moon-men or robots or any other kind of being imaginable, Marxism cannot work: 1. By design, Marxism rewards unproductive behavior and deters productive behavior. This means all a Marxist run commonwealth can produce over time is unproductive behavior. 2. Marxism promises that changing laws and customs will eliminate scarcity of resources, opportunity costs, time-preference, disutility of labor, and the limited utility of factors of production. But these things are factors of reality, independent of human nature. Even Adam in Eden before the Fall had gardening to do, and even he cannot dig a well in the same spot at the same time he plants a fruit tree.

Envy is not an economic theory, it is a mortal sin. The value of a good or service is based on what folk are willing to trade for it. If you have a service many can do, as manual labor, no one will trade you for more than the man next to you, who can do the same. If, on the other hand, you have a skill very few people have, such as knowing how to build and expand a business, organized hundreds or thousands of people into productive and efficient ways to bring goods and services to market, anticipate consumer need, and make the lives of millions easier, rare indeed is the man who can replace you. Nine out of ten new enterprises fail within the first five years of founding. That is how rare the skill is.

Xenophanes of Colophon, teaching that God is one and incorporeal, says “One God there is midst gods and men supreme; In form, in mind, unlike to mortal men.” And “But men have the idea that gods are born, And wear their clothes, and have both voice and shape.” And again “Ethiopians say the their gods are flat-nosed and dark, Thracians that theirs are blue-eyed and red-haired "But had the oxen or the lions hands, Or could with hands depict a work like men, Were beasts to draw the semblance of the gods, The horses would them like to horses sketch, To oxen, oxen, and their bodies make Of such a shape as to themselves belongs.” This quote was told to me (out of context) as if to show the ancient Greek had skeptics among them: but the man here is only skeptical of anthropomorphism and polytheism.

If someone wrote this in a wild science fiction story, even the most generous readers would smirk at the unreality of it. Martin Luther King's daughter on a hate list prepped by the guys who fund the KKK -- calling her racist. Her.
Think about this; The black CEO of SPLC put Dr. Alveda King and Dr. Ben Carson on their hate list as, the black CEO of SPLC was funding the kkk.

🚨 WOW! Dr. ALVEDA KING just said it PERFECTLY on Capitol Hill "I still have a dream. I dream that one day we will move beyond black power and white power and embrace GOD'S power and human dignity!" "I reject the notion that Americans who hold traditional Christian beliefs should be treated as THREATS or TERRORISTS simply because we disagree with a prevailing political thought!" 🙏🏻 "I dream that Americans will one day see each other, not as enemies, but as neighbors. I dream that we will hear each other, see each other, and recognize that every human life has value from the womb to the tomb and beyond." "We are as scripture teaches, one blood, one human race. And if we remember that truth, we can build a future worthy of the sacrifices made by those who came before us." "We must speak out for truth and against the forces that would manufacture hate, fear, division, and violence simply to line their pockets and further their political ambitions." "God bless America, God bless you!" 🇺🇸🇺🇸👏🏻

I asked the world to tell me who, before Christ, condemned slavery. Amid Twitter clamor, one soul answered via a quote from 4th C sophist Alcidamas: “God has left all men free; nature has made no one a slave.” Was it Alcidamas who convinced you that slavery was innately wrong? He was writing to condemn the conquest of the Messenians. So, not the freedom of chattel slaves, but the freedom of city-states was the subject of his rhetoric, apparently.
To our socialist brothers denying Christianity alone denounced and abolished the slave trade, I have a challenge: Name a single sage, philosopher, priest, poet, or prince before Christ who urged abolition of slavery? Or denounced it as a moral evil? Ungrateful hypocrites

I came across the Devil on X yesterday. During a discussion of the role of Christianity in history in abolishing the slave trade, the Devil declared that whoever served and obeyed Christ was a slave. Is it really better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven? Really?

Speaking as a newspaper man, let me just say my hatred of the fake news is completely justified, as is my love and admiration for the President.
🚨 OMG. President Trump CUTS OFF and WALKS OUT of a Kristen Welker interview He looks her in the eyes and tells her SHE'S A LIAR, then storms off! "The elections are like a 3rd world country. YOU'RE CROOKED...let's call it QUITS. I've HAD ENOUGH." WELKER: Please, I traveled all the way to Wisconsin! TRUMP: "I've sat in the RAIN with you for an HOUR! I've given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press. You know what? A country can never be great with a dishonest press. Let's GO." WELKER: *Whines* BEST PRESIDENT EVER 🔥🔥🔥
