Mr Balodis died after being stabbed in the chest.
UPDATE: The assassin who died in a road crash while en route to carry out a hit is suspected to have been hired by a Limerick gang involved in a local feud.
The 33-year-old contract killer, a Swedish passport holder, has been identified and named.
