It was an honor to be with members of our @goCLTCC Team at @NorthRapides keynoted by @LAGovJeffLandry. Also, NRBIA lead and @johnson_state introduced @LC_University's new President Dr. Mark Johnson. There was a wonderful turnout on what was a great meeting. What made today extra special was that both Gov. Landry and Rep. Johnson were in Washington, D.C. yesterday with significant accomplishments. Gov. Landry was with President Trump at the announcement of Hyundai’s new Louisiana Steel Mill and Rep. Johnson was sworn U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts officially admitting him to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

As much as I travel, I’m never surprised by the familiar faces I run into. It was great catching up with a good friend, fomer Pineville resident —and in my opinion, the greatest sports announcer of all time—Lyn Rollins, as he headed out to call an LSU baseball game.

We continue to expedite payments owed due to the Social Security Fairness Act. Yesterday, we issued another 98,309 retroactive payments totaling $497,053,151.06. That adds up to 100,014 retroactive payments totaling $509,136,474.89 so far. Stay tuned!

Cade Brumley has been a game-changer for education in Louisiana. Our progress began the moment he took the helm five years ago.
