When you walk in a part of town you’re in all the time and suddenly there are new statues there and all of a sudden you’re excited and taking photos like a tourist (and of tourists) and you don’t care if people look at you because you’re happy. 🥰 #ILoveNewYork
It’s evident from the line of people patiently waiting to sit next to a statue and strike a pose that these works of art bring joy to many people. And even for those who just walk by (which is fine) the space is completely transformed and has a new energy. How wonderful.
A 5th grader from Kauai wrote these lines using one of my poetry prompts, and I think I will think about that final line forever ❤️
ALT No one knows the words I softly whisper.
But I do. I do.
I will wake today and know my purpose
I will walk today and feel my worth.
I will be happy in the world.
Dragons, represent me, represent me, represent me.

Really looking forward to this talk with @just_shelter & @andreafelliott at the @nypl Invisible Child, Evicted, and Poverty, by America are all 5-star, mind-opening books.
In just the first few hours back in Germany I’m reminded of the many reasons I loved spending time here. The people. The food. The trains. 😊 The energy here is special to me. Will be a great two weeks ahead.
It’s good to be back! 🇩🇪 🚊 Heading to Stuttgart to visit Bosch and conduct the first of four cross-company exchanges.
Many thanks to Bosch for hosting! 🙏

This is a poignant and important story that many of us can relate to. (Read the entire thread to see why.). Thank you @MarkMcGrathCFP for sharing what your dad went through. I hope it helps other avoid the same end.
Make sure you know what you're retiring to.
This was a hard post to write.
I almost didn't write it in fact. I've started and trashed this story many times.
But I believe there are important lessons in this story we can learn from.
Warning: this does not have a happy ending.
