This match has been very entertaining and a draw is fair so far. Nevertheless, I prefer the tactical approach from Ecuador being more different in their attacking options

Beautiful tactical understanding by Ecuador. Finishing is what is missing.

Ecuador: Excellent Movement The rotations and movement from this side are exceptional, it's like watching a club side & clearly well coached. Enner Valencia almost scored on the end of this chance but the build-up to it is exceptional: > Hincapie (LB) Inverted as a "High 8" > Vite Often Moves out to LB > LCB Plays LW > Hincapie Underlaps into Crossing Position This left-side rotation is also limiting Yan Diomande as he's having to do far too much defensive work & needs to be switched to the Left-Wing.

One Leg off a 14/1 Havertz Price Boost to Score @ Evens This was the bet of the game by a distance Wirtz to Assist odds were called up at @ 6/5 but wasn't really worth it in truth... then it comes in inside 10mins. 14/1 let down by 1-Leg on J.Bacuna to be carded: > Committed 2 Fouls > Competed 16 Duels (Losing 11) > A closer tighter game and he is probably in more aggressively but not to be. Onto Netherlands v Japan for a 45/1 that looks good on paper...

It's amazing the difference having the right personnel *healthy* and ready to go makes. Even two months ago, Poche didn't have all of this at his disposal....and the US looked underwhelming.
USA Analysis: Rotations & Runs Behind The USA have been exceptional in this 1st Half v Paraguay and clearly very well coached by Mauricio Pochetino. Is it a 3-4-3 or a 4-2-3-1? It's Both. 3-4-3: > Back-3 Build > Dest & Robinson High > Pulisic & McKennie Roll Inside 4-2-3-1: > 1 WB Tucks In (Robinson) > Dest Goes Higher as a RW > McKennie Moves into CAM The rotations have been excellent, the runs beyond have been brilliantly timed & the passing has been positive all the time. Really impressed by the U.S

Sweden v Tunisia: Pre-Match Analysis Potential to be a difficult game for both sides as match-ups challenge one another. Sweden probably in a 3-4-3/3-4-1-2: > Rotations up top > 1v1 and Underneath > Crosses into the CF's Tunisia in a 4-3-3 or variation of that: > Build & Drive Wide > Crosses into the Box > Can Be Countered Badly First game I have no idea how to call it...

Ivory Coast v Ecuador: Pre-Match Analysis This game is so hard to call, it could be an absolute snooze-fest 0-0 as it's the 2 Best Defences from Qualifying or it could be a goal-fest and an advert of perfect wing-play and transition football Both Teams, in a 4-4-2: > Rotations to get Wide > Drop into a Block to Counter > Drive Behind Quickly in Transitions Ivory Coast have slightly better 1v1 Wingers and that could be a difference maker for them but need to protect against Ecuador countering. Such an intriguing match-up

Netherlands v Japan: Pre-Match Analysis Japan are being labelled the dark-horse of the tournament and are 4/1 to "Top their Group" but the Netherlands will have something to say. Netherlands in a 4-3-3: > Wing-Play 1v1 to Shoot (Gakpo) > Rotations, Overlaps and Crosses into the Box > Weak in Transition into Defence Japan in a 3-4-2-1: > High-Press & Intensity > Quick Play Through Lines > Pace in the Front-Line Japan will present problems and it's all about how the Netherlands control the pace of the game. A Very Exciting Tie

Germany v Curacao: Pre-Match Analysis This is a bit of a mismatch unfortunately but so was Qatar v Switzerland, so there's hope. Germany in a 4-2-3-1: > Dominant & Patient Build > Combination & Wing-Play > Lightening Quick at Top-End Curacao in a 4-3-3 or a 3-4-3: > Deep Block > Direct or Transition at Pace I fancy Germany to lay a marker down at the start of this tournament πŸ‘Œ
