We’re also looking ahead to what comes next. In another blog post published today, we introduced Mastodon’s new leadership team. Our Executive Director is Felix Hlatky (formerly, CFO of Mastodon gGmbH), who has already represented Mastodon on international stages.

The EU Commission just released a statement positioning open source as central to #Europe’s tech sovereignty, including #Mastodon.
They intend to “strengthen the open source social media space by supporting open and decentralised social media solutions and platforms. The Commission currently runs a Mastodon instance, which hosts the Commission’s presence and plans to extend the users basis to EU institutions.”
