1/ Next week I'll be at NeurIPS 2024 along with the awesome Antonia Marcu and our amazing students Nehal Yasin, Jay Bear, and Damian Smith. It would be great to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
8/ TLDR: feature sensitivity and feature importance (or saliency and gradients) are not the same thing. See openreview.net/forum?id=p2Oq… for the details.
9/ Damian and Antonia looked at functional similarity using stitching, and demonstrated that being able to stitch actually doesn't really tell you very much about the extent to which representations from different models capture similar information: openreview.net/forum?id=5aE7…
Tune into our seminar on Tuesday at 9am EST (2pm GMT)! Sulaiman Sadiq from @unisouthampton will be speaking on "Enabling Imagenet-scale Deep Learning on MCUs for Accurate and Efficient Inference". Zoom link below.
Thanks to the @theUKESF for being one of the sponsors of our Summer Taster Courses at @unisouthampton again this year. It's been great to see the ~140 A-Level students getting so engaged in all our activities on Electronics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering!
This morning we were featured on BBC #PoliticsSouth talking about how ArchAI is using #AI to detect historic sites in the landscape. 🤯🤯
