Re: City’s disallowed goal: If Haaland and Szoboszlai commit their fouls simultaneously, the officials would say it’s “six of one, half a dozen of the other” as they do at most set pieces. The goal is effectively disallowed because EH doesn’t foul DS soon enough…

Utterly baffling refereeing performance from Rob Jones.

It remains a problem with the laws of the game that any foul/handball inside the box, no matter how innocuous, has to be an 80% chance of a goal to the opposition. In a low-scoring game it's just nonsensical.

Remember when City got a corner on the stroke of half-time at Wolves and the ref blew before they could take it? The consistency of PGMOL’s inconsistency is maddening.

Obviously not in terms of stature, but stylistically Reijnders gives me Yaya vibes.

Even if he did accidentally touch the ball twice, Alvarez's penalty being the one that was "illegal" in a shootout in which other players gamed the laws of the game to breaking point with stuttered run-ups is really silly.

City Twitter: I have a last-minute trip to London next week and am trying to get a ticket for Brentford away. If you have a spare, please follow and DM. My last away was Spurs 1-5 City in 2014 so I’m on a good run of form 😉.

Dozens of energetic, brilliantly-coached academy players in perfect health on the bench. Pep seeing me - 37, arthritic ankle - in the crowd.

Cannot wait for City to be exonerated in court and then get relegated anyway.

If you think the ~30k supporters at Maine Road in Division 2 were never critical, I’m afraid I have to disillusion you.
