As coworkers in an agency, being social and fully remote isn't easy!
We recently decided to bring back a form of Swedish Fika after 6 months and to help the convo flowing I just vibe coded a tiny topics app. angrycreative.github.io/catc…

Optimistically: They use widgets as a reasonable way to upsell/cross sell their plugin business and users can opt to remove/hide it via UI.
Realistically: it's just another location added with no subtraction from pre-existing bloat.
I'm more excited for viewport controls 🙈😄
New widget experience ❤️: make.wordpress.org/core/2026…. By far, the best upsell opportunity for WordPress plugins (especially WooCommerce). Users don't buy WordPress plugins for more settings. They buy for value and guidance. That's your upsell opportunity via widgets.
Now in the limbo 30min before I start traveling to #WCEU.. everything packed, ready, just waiting for the time my bus leaves. This is the part I've never liked with travels 😂
If you're planning to attend #WCEU in Krakow, and you want to chat about anything related to WordPress development, my calendar is irrelevant and empty. Just grab me in the hallway track or whatever 😂😘
Possibly unpopular opinion: I don't like nor see the point of "#WordPress versioning" vs SemVer. There's no technical merit to it, just fluff and marketing, or a decision made at the top that's being stubbornly clung to. Does @WooCommerce really have to keep following suit?
HPOS was the perfect case for a SemVer major bump. Instead it landed under a number that, by design, means nothing. The community had to scramble. That's the cost of versioning-as-marketing.
Woo kept SemVer for their npm and Composer packages. Why? Because automated tooling needs it. That's a tacit admission SemVer is correct for programmatic consumers which Woo absolutely has (extensions, themes, headless, CI).
Devs who have set up code review agents in their git repos; do you go with just one agent, or one that reviews and then a different one (model) that evaluates the review before/after it's posted?
I'm just about to dive into this stuff..
Here's a reminder that selling to the EU online will soon require complying to new laws around Rights of Withdrawal. Had a great chat with @johan_falk about it today about their coming product for this which I look forward to trying out!
krokedil.com/withdrawal-link…
A gotcha that does not seem to always be clear: the "clock" starts when the customer receives the package, not at the time of putting in the order or when the merchant processes it.
That's where I feel like @krokedilwp is in a good position to shine with their suite of plugins!
> But syncing a highly dynamic #WooCommerce database back to a live server after days of design tweaks is a notorious nightmare.
People really do this?? 😱
I don't think we have ever synced data into a live WC site from staging. Export/import specific content, yes. But no sync
We have all been conditioned to believe that staging environments are the only safe sandbox. But syncing a highly dynamic #WooCommerce database back to a live server after days of design tweaks is a notorious nightmare.
You do not need a staging site just to change your presentation layer.
Well ok.. apparently @airmailer has decided to increase my license cost by over 400% for my yearly license. For an app that keeps freezing and failing to fetch emails.. Good bye!
I'd love to hear what everyone else is using on macOS? I don't mind a _reasonably_ licensed product.
The initial weirdness though when I recalled that this is a thing that don't even have bluetooth. Because they went all in on Airplay back in the day! Weird setting it up by connecting to its own wifi and accessing its local configuration server but once done it works well!
