I was in the gym at lunch, like I usually am, unless I’m in trial or doing a prelim. I happened to look over at the TV, and is every candidate in Los Angeles, elected or not, Republican, Democratic or NPP, running on public safety?
I have two comments on this:
(1) I thought crime was down? LA City & LA County can’t even locate billions of our taxpayer dollars - I’m sorry, but I don’t trust them with crime stats. Less police, less arrests, no obs, no proactive policing, people don’t report because they feel nothing will happen, etc… that doesn’t mean crime is down.
(2) You are NOT for public safety, I don’t care what you say or what your commercials say, if you
-Supported Gascon in San Francisco, in Los Angeles, or anywhere for that matter (I know who you are).
-Supported AB 109, Prop 47, Prop 57, didn’t support Prop 36, supported mental health diversion for attempted murderers and violent criminals, elder parole for serial child molesters, no LWOP for intentional murder by torture of a child, no sex registration for many sex crimes, encampments by schools and homes where there is crime, drug usage, and drug sales that endanger children, buying a minor for sex not being a felony, $0 bail during COVID, early release of violent criminals during COVID, less police on Metro and public transit, don’t support victims or claim criminals are victims, or you voted for these horrible things as an elected assembly person, Senator, or you abstained (again, I know who you are).
And, please, I don’t want to see … Republican this, Democrat that in the comments … if you are watching the LA Mayor race, it should tell you something - vote for the candidate not the party. Research the candidates. If you didn’t know, I’m a Democrat.
If you are an elected official, and you are so weak that you bow down to your political party over the People, you don’t deserve to be in office.
