I was largely formed in the Charismatic tradition of the Christian church. One of the major ideas drilled into me for a long time was not to grieve or quench the Holy Spirit, explicitly because your life would suck if God abandoned you,

(basically checked all the boxes of my tradition) AND was affirming of LGBTQ relationships. Some parts of me I needed that example, needed to hear him speak in tongues, to know it was OK.

If you need a bit of that ol' Holy Ghost fire, I can confirm the Spirit has never left, and God has never abandoned me or the people I do life with. Despite some being suuuuper gay.

Our dear friend @SaveWildBees died on Sunday. She was a wonderful human being, a brilliant researcher, passionate about grassroots justice work.
Among many of the gifts she and Marc gave us, was introducing us to Puerto Rico (the board game) and good espresso.
She was 43.

"Presence not withheld" is also what we can offer ourselves, and especially to our pain.
There is endless grace & care for the ways we numb out / dissociate in order to survive. But healing and growth is about presence.
