BREAKING: Employee Ownership Trusts are coming to Canada. It's happening. #Budget2022 has committed to a new trust in the Income Tax Act. With the right structure and the right incentives, this is a HUGE win for Canadian workers, business owners and economic resilience. Let's go!

Canada has strengthened an important new succession option for business owners that keeps companies Canadian-owned, protects local jobs, delivers wealth for workers, and is proven to boost growth and productivity. A huge win for the Canadian economy - well done @FP_Champagne.

Yesterday was a big day for employee ownership in Canada, and @CFIB has been a huge supporter of this effort for years. Thanks to you Dan and your team.

CFIB thanks Finance Minister @FP_Champagne for listening to small firms and making Employee Ownership Trusts a permanent feature to encourage successful successions. This is an important long term move.

I'm excited that the Employee Ownership Trust tax exemption is being made permanent. We should make it easy for companies to transfer to an employee ownership as a way to help their founders retire.

Build, baby. build? or Sell, baby, sell? Sunoco's acquisition of Parkland is a bad deal for Canada and should be rejected. policyoptions.irpp.org/2025/…

Yesterday, America had their “Liberation Day.” Now it’s time for the rest of us to plan our own. The world needs a new Alliance, independent of the US or China. Here's one way to do it. It's wrong and incomplete. But maybe it gets the ball rolling. jonshell.medium.com/manifest…

"'We’ll help make you owners' is a hell of a rallying cry. With Canada’s sovereignty at stake, we must invest in every approach to keeping Canadian businesses in Canadian hands...Employee ownership was a great idea in 2024. It has become an essential idea for Canada in 2025." 👍

Employee Ownership can be an important tool in the fight for Canadian sovereignty. Current policy isn't up to the task. @mike_ras and my view in today's @calgaryherald. It's time to move this issue into the front and centre of the Canadian economic agenda. calgaryherald.com/opinion/co…

With an election upcoming, and with both the Conservatives and Liberals laser-focused on Canadian workers, employee ownership should be front and centre. @PierrePoilievre @MarkJCarney

I almost never ask for a share, but if you're an employee ownership supporter please share the linked article and let's try and pressure our politicians to act quickly to mobilize these trusts in the fight to protect our sovereignty. #employeeownership

The perfectly ironic Canadian move would be to hire someone from McKinsey to be the fentanyl czar.

Canadian passport officer described @ShopprsDrugMart as their "enemy" because their passport photos are rejected so often. Shoppers makes money, passport officers get yelled at. Brutal, Shoppers. Be better.
