On International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, we recognise that #GBV against women #journalists has been increasing & become routine in the form of intimidation, rape threats, threats against family, and sexual harassment in the newsroom and in the field.

gender-based threats and violence against women journalists also include cyber trolling and reputational slander. We call upon all actors to end the culture of impunity, bolster accountability and end practices that limit freedom of expression.
#GenderData is crucial to integrated responses to the #COVID19 pandemic - which have remained #gender blind globally for the greater part of the pandemic.
