Pro tip: phone camera is awesome for magnifying text on labels at the grocery store if you "forgot" your reading glasses.

Today, I am thankful for figuring out how to pick up my daughter from the airport without having to spend 45 minutes sitting in traffic.

At the stage of proposal writing where it's add a word, remove a word. All those tweets are coming in handy for getting to the point with minimum characters. 😂

LaTeX typesetting magic; when you can still add words to a proposal at the page limit and not go over. 🙂

Uh, yeah! This is the greatest design of all time once you learn how to use it effectively. Make a backwards L with your right hand and you're easy to rock.
Remember when someone thought this was a good idea for a mouse?

Working a proposal revision. Trying not to do this. Wish reviewers didn't push people to do this, either. theoatmeal.com/comics/creati…

Nah....I love talking about my old work. So many happy memories from writing those papers and working with students, why wouldn't I want to talk about it?
I don’t mind when prospective PhD applicants email me wanting to talk about work I did 5 years ago. As long as they don’t mind my enthusiasm about instead following up on their work at the middle school science fair.

Only need to pull 2.5 pages of text out of my proposal after addressing most of the reviewer comments. Sigh...

The impact (good or bad) that you have on people through your teaching and mentoring will likely be greater than the impact of your research on society.
What unpopular academia opinion would get you in this situation?

Addressing reviewer comments on a proposal revision and now a page over the limit. Going to edit down; just wait, the text I remove will come back to haunt me...
