Holy moly, what a week! We are tired. We are excited. We are grateful.
We are tired: Since we formally launched an independent Capital Weather on Tuesday, after 18 years with The Washington Post, we’ve covered storms on three straight days, had two heat advisories, and reached 100 degrees in DC on Friday.
We are excited: With a brand new website at
CapitalWeather.com, a brand new Capital Weather app, and no paywall for our core forecasts and updates, we are already reaching so many of you with a combination of our human forecasts and convenient modern weather tools.
We are grateful: Many of you have already generously contributed to help us keep essential 24/7 DC-area weather coverage free for all. Your support is what makes this possible. We can’t thank you enough.
For those of you who didn’t have a chance during the week, we invite you to take a moment this weekend and check out the various ways you can support us. Options range from our “contribute what you’d like” Fan level, to monthly or annual Friend contributions, to our annual Founder level.
We love our Fans, Friends, and Founders all the same!
