On 14 March, Sikhs celebrated the start of the month of Chet - first month of the Sikh calendar often referred to as the Sikh New Year.
Sikh MP’s and staff got together in Parliament to read Japji Sahib Paath & join in Ardas prayer for wellbeing of all in the year ahead.
We also took the opportunity to re-wrap the two Gutka’s retained by House authorities for swearing in ceremonies.

Privileged to be at the @RoyalAlbertHall last night for the #FestivalofRemembrance @PoppyLegion.
It was important to honour the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, a conflict that saw Undivided #India raise the largest volunteer Army the world has seen - 2.5 million-strong.
Powerful stories of military families provided a backdrop to an emotional evening.

This is so awesome.
The Sikh regiments played an oversized role in the Imperial Army for centuries.
It was Sikh regiments who relieved the Canadian Army at the Second Battle of Ypres.
A proud martial tradition which many Sikhs continue in the @CanadianArmy today.

My question to the Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls regarding the grooming gangs enquiry.
The grooming enquiry must not be watered down, particularly the focus on grooming gangs and ethnicity, including models of grooming where groomers focused on ethnicity of victims be they white working class girls or Sikh girls.
