Trusting any single AI vendor seems like an increasingly high risk for any team or company. When using models: use it behind a router where it's trivial to switch providers as soon as one tries to force unacceptable T&Cs like Anthropic with Fable. When using harnesses: do the same. Use ones where models are trivial to switch out, like OpenCode, Factory, Cursor and many others. Putting all your dependencies on one provider increasingly feels like a massive business risk that makes little to no sense to take. Unless you have a hobby project, of course. Then convenience is all that matters. But if you're a professional, make it dead simple to offramp from one provider to the other!

I want to say a final thing about my Fable first reaction: I dedicated my life to programming and I'll use every innovation in the field, also to extract value and bring it to the local inference world, to Redis, and so forth. But:

fable 5 just refactored my entire codebase in one call 67 tool invocations. 1M new lines. 24 brand new files it modularized everything. broke up monoliths. cleaned up spaghetti none of it worked but boy was it beautiful

Times are changing and @donuxcom needs to change as well. After 6 years and 100 of products built the old way doesn’t work anymore

it’s in gemini, just create it in ai studio. oh, that’s for your personal google one account. for workspace you need gemini business. no, not gemini advanced, that’s ai pro now. unless you need ai ultra. oh agents? you do that in spark actually. no, not gemini api managed agents, that’s different. for coding use jules. unless you mean the agentic ide, that’s antigravity. no, that’s the old antigravity, download the new one. actually gemini cli is being deprecated, use antigravity cli. no the flash model is smarter than the pro model. unless you need pro. if it’s video, use flow. no, flow uses veo. no, nano banana is images. actually that’s in gemini now. unless you’re in search, then it’s ai mode. no, research is notebooklm. anyway it’s all very simple.

The answer has always been “pick one and keep using it”
the answer was Cursor all along 😃 while we're messing about with our Claude Codes and Codex CLIs people that just kept using Cursor & optimized their workflows seem to be winning 🤦‍♂️ maybe it's my FOMO, but the other day I asked about which model to use between Opus 4.6 and Codex 5.3 People were like "use both". I'm thinking, how tf can I use Codex 5.3 in Claude Code and also not pay OpenAI 200 bucks too. Turns out most of them just use Cursor 🤷

Long-running agents are now available at cursor.com/agents for Ultra, Teams, and Enterprise plans. With our new harness, agents can complete much larger tasks. cursor.com/blog/long-running…

I couldn’t work these holidays, my wife trained the dog to guard the MacBook

Jokes aside, I took these Christmas completely off from work, and I feel energized. The first four days anxiety surged and I couldn’t stop thinking about it, but then I relaxed and it was way better

All process issues tend to magically disappear with the right people, especially when you’re a small company

My next small bet is a book! "Quantum Physics for Absolute Beginners" In the book I explain often obscure concepts such as wave-particle duality, superposition, and entanglement, and shed some light on the applications of quantum physics in everyday life I am giving away 20 copies of the ebook FOR FREE In exchange I look for feedback and a review once the book is out To grab a copy, comment below and/or send me a DM so I can give you the book link! Thanks for your attention to this matter!

I still get anxious just at the idea of opening an email from a client sometimes. At the beginning of my journey I thought I'd just overcome it. But then I understood that these swings of energy are part of myself, and learned to recognize the symptoms and act accordingly

As simple as it gets: a. realize that the world won't crumble if I open an email, and I can just have more data to solve the issue, even if it's a difficult conversation OR b. wait for a moment with more energy (usually the morning) and make it the first thing I do

People saying “ @browsercompany should’ve just fixed @arcinternet , not making @diabrowser” I get it, I was burned, too from Arc being dismissed. But every engineer worth their title know that you cannot make evaluation about a software from the outside

trying some new coffee beans: I’m trying to find a daily driver to balance cost and flavor. These were from a local supermarket: not fancy for espresso purists but hey, I need to check the wallet, too

As a dual speaker who interacts with AI products via voice I just love how they understand what I language I DON’T want every time and just use that

This is what goes wrong with digital products: you don't know when to stop. Do we need a browser inside a terminal app? Would that give me any advantage over using MY browser with MY setup I spent years getting used to?

We had my 5 yo bday party tonight and it’s custom to give presents to little friends who attended. So I thought of 3D printing a copter for everyone The good: it was a fun thing to do with my kid, assembling them all and teaching about gears

Lesson learned: I need to plan better around print times, especially since I have just one plate Also: when you’re printing in bulk it’s not the time for experimenting with something you’ve never printed (but I’ll get to you, toroidal rotor!)

Usually you find posts about SaaS metrics on Acquisition, Engagement, and Retention. Posts about Monetization are rare. So here it is, a playbook with 16 monetization metrics, formulas, and examples. Link in the first comment 👇🏻
